Culturally safe pathways into the WA public sector.

The WA public sector is committed to growing a workforce that reflects the communities it serves and creating culturally safe employment pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Aboriginal identified programs provide tailored support, development opportunities and clear pathways into long term public sector careers. Programs are available for people at different stages, including while studying and after graduation.

Aboriginal cadetship

  • Department of Health (applications open)
    A paid pathway for Aboriginal university students to gain work experience while studying and build long‑term careers in the WA public health system.

  • Main Roads WA (applications closed)
    A supported graduate pathway for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander graduates to build meaningful careers in transport, infrastructure and community engagement across 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ.

Graduate development program

  • Department of Health (applications closed)
    A graduate pathway supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander graduates to contribute to public health services and improve outcomes for communities across WA.
