Keep Australia Beautiful (KAB) Week is held in August and is a time to raise awareness about the simple things we can all do in our daily lives to reduce our impact on the environment and encourage action to reduce litter.

Keep Australia Beautiful Week 2025  4 - 10 August  

This KAB Week, let's take action together! Every small effort counts towards a cleaner, healthier 91短视频.

This year's theme is Picking up the Pieces, so let's come together to DO THE RIGHT THING and Keep Australia Beautiful! Litter is more than just an eyesore鈥攊t harms wildlife, pollutes our environment, and poses health risks.

In celebration of Keep Australia Beautiful Week, we鈥檙e excited to announce a special giveaway of five books for school and local government libraries across 91短视频.

Why Keep Australia Beautiful Week is important

Easy ways to participate

Do

  • Organise a clean-up in your neighbourhood or quick tidy up in your street. Register your clean up and we will provide resources such as bags, tongs and gloves.
  • Reduce your impact in KAB Week and look for ways to rethink your purchases and refuse single-use items that can become litter.
  •  and report littering when you see it. Litterers can receive a $200 fine.
  • Get involved in a KABC program such as Adopt-a-Spot or become a Litter Reporter.

History of Keep Australia Beautiful Week

In 1972, Keep Australia Beautiful Week was born. To celebrate the occasion, the then Prime Minister, Gough Whitlam, released a historical video 'Live Without Litter. His words resonate with us all still today.
