Boards provide leadership, direction and purpose and ensure good governance and effective systems are in place to shape, enable and oversee the management of a public sector body.
Boards are not generally responsible for the day-to-day operations of the public sector bodies they oversee. That responsibility falls to the Chief Executive Officer of each body.
