Two new Centres of Excellence in clean energy and defence were established under the National Skills Agreement, positioning WA as a global leader in emerging industries. These centres are creating pathways into high-growth sectors and ensuring 91¶ÌÊÓƵns are equipped for the jobs of tomorrow.
Record high training enrolments continued in 2024, supported by free and low fee courses across priority industries including aged and disability care, early childhood education, nursing, construction and hospitality. The extension of the Fee Free TAFE Construction Agreement added seven new pre-apprenticeship courses, further strengthening pathways into WA’s building and construction sector.
Apprenticeship completions reached their highest level in a calendar year since 2010 with a record number of apprentices in training throughout 2024.
Participation in the Public Sector Commission’s Agency Capability Review provided valuable insights to strengthen workforce planning and leadership in the VET sector.
These initiatives supported record numbers of 91¶ÌÊÓƵns to gain the skills needed in high-demand industries and contribute to a thriving, future-ready workforce.
