The program combines structured learning, hands-on experience and strong support networks to ensure graduates not only thrive during the program but build rewarding careers beyond it. 

Each year, we attract high-calibre graduates from a wide range of disciplines and provide them with meaningful opportunities to develop leadership capability, technical expertise and a strong understanding of government. 

About the Program

Overview

The program runs for 12 months and includes:

  • a tailored and interactive onboarding experience
  • an 18-month in-house mentoring program
  • exposure to members of the Corporate Executive
  • opportunities to contribute to strategic and State-significant projects
  • professional development and soft-skills training
  • targeted rotations for multidisciplinary experience
  • access to wellness, engagement and networking initiatives
  • enrolment in the Public Sector Commission’s 10-month Launch program.

Graduates commence at Level 3, with a starting salary of $86,439 plus superannuation, in line with the Public Service Award 1992 and Public Sector CSA Agreement 2024.

On successful completion, graduates transition to permanent Level 3 or SCL1 roles. 

Location

Your primary workplace will be 140 William Street, Perth CBD, conveniently located above Perth Underground Station. Some roles may include regional travel. 

About you

You are a recent university graduate with an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in disciplines such as:

  • Aboriginal studies, archaeology, anthropology
  • architecture, business, environmental science
  • public policy, property, surveying, statistics
  • urban and regional planning, engineering, law, finance and more. 

You are passionate about the sustainable and responsible management of 91¶ÌÊÓÆµâ€™s natural and built assets, and demonstrate that you are:

  • collaborative
  • curious
  • innovative
  • action oriented. 

Applicants must be Australian citizens, permanent residents or otherwise entitled to live and work indefinitely in Australia. A 100-point identity check and a National Police Certificate are required.
